For media and storytellers

NexaGen began with a diagnosis - and a decision to change the system.

When founder Brian Martin was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, his experience of navigating fragmented care inspired others with long-term conditions to join him.

Together, they are building a new model for health - one that connects data, care and community through lived experience and collaboration.

NexaGen is a story of people turning lived experience into lasting change - creating a future where everyone living with long-term conditions can live well - on their own terms.

Why it matters?

Neurological conditions are one of the fastest-growing health challenges worldwide, yet support in the UK remains fragmented and hard to navigate.

NexaGen brings everything together - data, services, and community into one personalised platform that helps people take control of their health and connect to the right resources, faster, and feel supported every step of the way.

Our credibility and collaboration

NexaGen is guided by its User Advisory Group (UAG) - individuals living with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions who shape every decision we make.

The project is also developed in partnership with leading charities, research institutions, and healthcare organisations, ensuring both lived experience and professional expertise are embedded from the very start.

What makes NexaGen different?

We’re not another healthtech startup.

Our difference lies in co-design and interoperability - connecting what already exists rather than duplicating it. NexaGen works alongside Diagnosis Connect, Specialised Neurology Services, and Parkinson’s Connect, aligning directly with national priorities while delivering practical, person-centred solutions that can scale across conditions.

We connect the dots - so people don’t have to.
